uphill. Aarhus Filmfestival goes uphill to the university to present a selection of films which maybe could have or should have made it to this year’s official programme if programming slots hadn’t been so tight and the Festival Director had not been so strict about eligibility within the festival profile. Judge for yourself – and above all, enjoy!

Berik Daniel Joseph Borgman, Danmark, 2010, 16 min. A film about friendship and understanding between a boy and a grown man, deformed by radiation poisoning.
Die Operation / The Operation Christoph Kalkowski, Germany, 2010, 15 min. A weird, macabre sci-fi comedy about company monopolization and tomatoes.
Cheval Blême / Night Mare Philippe Rouy, France, 2009, 4 min. In this experimental short film, a guillotine execution from 1939 is presented in a horrifying yet hypnotic loop.
Mein Sascha / My Sascha Markus Kaatsch, Germany, 2010, 14 min. A film about young and old love in a simple, touching drama with a boy, a girl, a man and a cell phone.
Wrestling With My Father Charles Fairbanks, USA, 2010, 5 min. In three simple shots, the film captures a father during a wrestling tournament in which his son takes part. Through the noise of the ongoing match and the father’s reactions, we experience the wrestling bout’s intensity.
